5 Reasons Your Firm Needs a Digital Marketing Consultant.

5 Reasons Why You Want to Recruit a Digital Marketing Consultant for Your Business:

If you’re wondering how a consultant helps my business, you should first ask yourself a few questions. Do you know what SEO, PPC & conversion rate optimization are all about?

Have you ever aimed to establish a social media marketing strategy? Is it possible to be assured that your online strategy is effective? If the answer is no, there are many digital marketing consultant benefits that you can leverage. Using different digital technologies, digital marketing consultants discover the most successful ways of advertising or marketing a company’s products or services.

A digital marketing consultant may ensure that desired campaigns are launched to assist you in achieving your objectives, regardless of the scope of services you choose. You’ll be able to raise general awareness of your brand and products, generate qualified leads, and close more sales this way.

Here we have five reasons why any company needs to hire a consultant.

1.   Marketing is a Full-time Gig

Marketing won’t function without a specialized marketing strategy tailored to your company or industry. It might be possible that your firm already has a strong marketing team, but they are not the experts in everything!

On the other hand, a digital marketing consultant will observe things from the outside to establish a clear, well-informed marketing approach. A developed, rigorous online marketing strategy will improve traffic and provide high-quality leads for a sales department to close, enhancing SEO, building an email campaign, or bringing all marketing to the digital realm.

2.    Impact of Time & Money

Proper and competent marketing consultants can use analytics to fine-tune marketing strategies and actions, thanks to their experience and knowledge.

By testing these strategies, marketing experts can identify approaches to increase traffic from any intended audience or clientele. They’ll also regulate these strategies to increase the number of prospective leads in each method.

Rather than spending your budget on different products and training, a digital marketing consultant may consolidate those costs, saving you time and money while enhancing your ROI.

3.   Better Expertise

The most important digital marketing aim is to reach people who look for your assistance. Enhancing your search engine position is a part of this. As a result, if your regular marketing squad is unknown with SEO, content creation & website optimization, you are losing money since your site isn’t garnering any views.

Hiring a digital marketing expert allows you to launch campaigns faster and achieve greater outcomes. They understand your user needs, keep them hooked & evaluate data to see if your efforts are working. Their knowledge and insight ensure that money is not lost due to inexperience.

And since digital marketing consultants have authority over the relevant gadgets and technology, they can focus on using only the tools required to complete the task, saving time & resources.

4.   Stay Relevant

It isn’t easy to recognize that not all digital marketing methods will be equally productive for your business. Some strategies will perform poorly, while others will work admirably.

A skilled consultant will provide you with “fresh” suggestions on how to increase revenue through marketing. They will evaluate your present methods and provide recommendations for more productive ones.

Your consultant will assess how your clients perceive your present efforts and assist you in developing the most effective marketing tactics based on their feedback.

5.   Scale Your Business

Hiring a digital marketing consultant to assist you with planning, implementing, and managing your digital marketing strategies and campaigns allows you to focus on growing your business, nurturing and developing your staff, and building relationships with your consumers.

Working with specialists means that they are solely focused on your business objectives, allowing you to work on the best for the smooth operation of your company. You can acquire access to the latest strategies, technology, and processes for your business or clients by employing a digital marketing consultant to help you scale your firm.

Final Words:

You’re aware of it now. A Digital Marketing Consultant may help you save time, money, and effort while also allowing you to rest and reap the marketing benefits. You get expert work from industry specialists who know what they’re doing and are always updated on the latest marketing trends & information.

A few reasons why you should be using Search Console Insights in your SEO strategy.

When one understands how Google’s algorithm works, it is not difficult to rank well in search results. But, what’s the catch? Content relevance. The more relevant your content is to the search term, the higher your rank will be, and the more digital visibility you will get.  Every day, 3. 5 billion searches are conducted on Google, and how do you appear in it? Using Search Console, you can find out what your users are looking for. Isn’t it interesting?

You can use Search Console to see things like:

  • The site’s search traffic is compared with traffic from earlier reports.
  • Top search queries people used to find your site.
  • Searches that resulted in visits to your site.
  • Top pages people visit on your site.
  • Which search engines send traffic to your site.
  • Whether people are more likely to click on your site’s in-page search results or your site’s search form.

How do I get started on Search Console?

#1 Verification:

Verification is being able to prove your identity and being who you claim to be. Google Search Console needs to verify ownership to make sure that only those people who have a right to control what appears online can control it. We bet you’re wondering how access is controlled, right? Well, one of the ways this would happen is if an owner had granted certain users access – or permission – to help manage their website and therefore affect a site’s presence and behaviour on Google Search, as well as other Google properties. A verified owner can grant full or partial access over to another person. You also have a multiple verification facility for which you need to go to the verification settings page. The multiple verification methods can be divided into manual verification and WordPress Plugin verification methods.

#2 Your pages must be found by Google and indexed:

You do not want your content to sit ignored by Google. It is possible to resolve these issues once you know what type of content works or doesn’t work on your page. The search console will show improvements based on which type of content you use. You need it indexed, available, and visible at all times to gain search visibility. This is why you should use advanced filters to identify issues so that you can start fixing them asap. Filters will help you sort the issues in the pages collectively. You can find a report of all the pages that Google has been able to index on your website or tried to index through available site crawl errors and warnings.

#3 Analyze Google’s mobile usability errors.

Analysis of your performance across all devices, including PCs and mobile, can be very beneficial. The Mobile Usability report shows which pages on your site don’t match your visitor’s expectations when viewing them in mobile browsers. Each and every element of the website must be customized based on mobile-friendliness. Failing to do so will result in the lack of ranking of the site.

Two ways that you can implement right away to make your site more mobile-friendly:

1. Dynamic serving – In dynamic serving, the server outputs various HTML depending on the same URL. It changes based on the type of browser used which can be a mobile, tablet, or desktop.

2. Responsive Web Design – Responsive web design is an approach in Web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience-easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, planning, and scrolling-across a wide range of device sizes (from small handheld devices to desktop computer monitors).

Bonus Tip 1: Make sure you consider submitting the sitemap and get a performance report to accelerate the process.

Are google analytics and the search console the same?

No. They aren’t.

Using Google Analytics, you can collect detailed information about the people who visit and interact with your blog. In contrast, Google Search Console helps you understand how your business appears in search engine results.

There are four general dimensions in total by which we fetch the data –

  • Query,
  • Landing Page,
  • Country, and
  • Device

Here’s a table for a clearer picture,

Are google analytics and google search console the same

  • Search Console will result in – Impressions, Clicks, CTR, and, Average Position
  • Analytics will give you – Sessions, Bounce Rate, Pages / Session, Ecommerce Conversion Rate, Transactions, and Revenue.

Make the best use of the best performing content!

Firstly, you should make sure you are tracking your content properly. Luckily, in this day and age, great tools like Google Analytics makes it easy to track the performance of your content and help you increase search visibility.  Secondly, you should establish if the content is relevant and useful to the audience. If you are publishing high-quality content and are tracking your performance, you can now work on improving your content’s ROI (Return On Investment).  For example, if you have created a piece of content that performs well on Google, you can then focus on optimizing the content for other search engines, like Bing. The more traffic you get, the better!

Verify Google’s understanding of your keywords

To check whether your website understands the keywords you are targeting or not, you can use the keyword planner tool of Google. You just have to put your keyword in the tool to get search visibility data & trends. You will get data about the monthly search volume for the keyword. If you are targeting a broad keyword and seeing a high search volume, you can make use of it. It is always better to have specific, clear, and long-tail keywords for a better and authority reach. ,

Backlinking can be a game-changer

Google’s search console is like a compass. It can be used to identify pathways. It is all about ‘Cross-Linking’ on your site, it is critical to have internal link-building strategies in place, that enable you to target the right keywords that your visitors are searching for, and to rank for these keywords effectively to gain digital visibility.

Bonus Tip 2: Using Google Search Console’s “Coverage” report, you can check how many pages of your site have been indexed.

Bonus Tip 3: Always resolve technical issues in the site at regular intervals of time. You will slowly see a drastic impact on your page performances.

Final thoughts

If you’re using Google Search Console and not using it to its full potential, you’re not optimizing your SEO strategy. SEO is constantly changing and new techniques are always coming out. By using Google Search Console Insights, you can find the best ways to optimize your SEO strategy and effectively market your business online.

  • On page SEO – This is the most familiar type. It deals with the information specifically on the web page. When this information is not just right, but when it is far superior to anything else out there, your website becomes relevant.
  • Off page SEO – This type focuses on website promotion more than the content. Link building and brand promotion are two main tools that enable higher rankings.
  • Content SEO – This type is a subset of the on page SEO. You will have to follow certain content guidelines to make this work.

Why Digital Marketing Is Significant for Startups?

Whether you want to launch a new product or promote your brand, digital marketing can make the reach seamless for you. How important is digital marketing for startups? Well, scroll down!

Establish an Online Presence

To gain market visibility, startups need every bit of assistance they can get. No matter how promising the startup is, it won’t succeed without people knowing it. A startup business can benefit from a variety of digital marketing strategies. Search engine optimization, email marketing, and social media marketing are a few common paths startups take.

Low Marketing Costs

Startups rarely have enough budgets to engage in traditional marketing and advertising, making it difficult to compete with more prominent companies. Conversely, digital marketing   when done by the in-house marketing team or by the founders themselves, with some very inexpensive activities.

Just like how every business starts with an idea, every marketing strategy starts with content. So, the basics of digital marketing starts with understanding the customer and producing relevant content.

Keeping Up With Customers

Think twice before you believe digital marketing is only for advertising your products or services. Building and nurturing relationships with customers is one of the biggest benefits of digital marketing.

Global competition is fierce, and your product may not match others’. Yet, what makes your customers choose your business? It makes a world of difference in how you interact with your customers. At any given time or trend, an engaging company wins over the others in the race.

Boost Your Revenue

Digital marketing drives sales in many ways. For example, SEO can increase traffic to your website. Social media can be a great way for customers to discover you and share it further. Relevant and valuable content can attract customers to your blog. No matter which digital marketing strategy you choose, it will increase brand awareness, and that, in turn, will lead to your first sale. Oh, we know that feeling.

Build Your Brand Beyond Your Online Presence

Even when new competitors enter the market, loyal customers stay with their favorite brands. What does this say? Brand recognition will increase your chances of people shopping with you. Therefore, get the word out about your brand! A brand makes your products and services exclusive, valuable, and distinguishable. Again, digital marketing is instrumental in this process.

What Are Various Digital Marketing Strategies Available for a Startup?

There are a variety of digital marketing strategies that work in their unique style for every business. But what are the most common strategies adopted by startups? Find them.

It Starts With Establishing Personas & Finding Your Core.

Digital marketing has two sides to its core. Business & audience.

The process is all about connecting your business to its audience and prodding them into action. However, how do you reach an audience you do not know? Nearly impossible. The first step of digital marketing must be buyer personas.

In essence, it outlines all the specifications for your ideal customer. So, know everything about your audience and target customers to potentially impact their choices. But, when we say startup digital marketing, does it have to be tough? No! It can start as simple as LinkedIn – The renowned professional hub.

Have You Dwelled On LinkedIn Marketing Yet?

Do you know that LinkedIn tops the choices among social media marketing? Yes, 94% of people reach LinkedIn for all the professional-related content while businesses generate about 80% of leads. Considering those stats, if you’re a startup, the first thing that you need to focus on is being active on LinkedIn.

Linkedin can help you connect your brand with senior influencers and decision-makers. It’s now more than a job-seekers and employer’s paradise. Why wait? Start a powerful LinkedIn marketing campaign to make the most of it.

Email Marketing Is Never Out of Fashion.

The most effective way to reach your audience is via email. That’s right, do you know emails have a return on investment (ROI) of $44 per dollar spent? No wonder it’s a budget-friendly option for most startups. However, note that not every email gets opened. It takes a decent amount of time to decide what your customers like.

Considering it’s a low-cost marketing strategy, it needs the right skills to make it worth it. For instance, a tailored subject line can have 26% more chances of opening your email than a regular one. Another way of staying connected with your customers is through an automated email service. So, how are you utilizing this impactful yet straightforward strategy?

Social Media Marketing Got You Covered.

Do you know that half of the world today uses social media? Social media acts as an influential platform across customers, businesses, and demographics, with millions of daily interactions. This is a perfect reason why startups can’t ignore this strategy.

In light of the fact that 73% of marketers find social media efficient, it is evident that you should pay attention to this medium. But not all social media platforms can suit your business. Know where your audience is and target them regularly with engaging, informative, and relevant content. Include visuals and videos for better engagement. Be quick to reply. Make use of paid advertising to make an extensive reach.

SEO & SEM Ace Digital Marketing Strategies.

Search Engine Marketing or SEM is the best digital marketing strategy that delivers instant results for your startups. Search engines can help your startup generate more traffic and sales. They help you reach the target audience seamlessly, with a budget for all pockets.

This is because SEM works mainly on pay-per-click. So, your startup needs to pay only for the clicks on your ads. For your startup to achieve maximum results from SEM, you need expertise and experience, as it can be tricky. Take your time in learning and start with small budgets.

No Search Engine Optimisation? No visibility online. SEO for startups is a strategy for obtaining organic traffic without paying for it. Search engines help send organic traffic to your homepage, services pages, and landing pages through blogs. Getting new customers is easy and economical. Not just that, it helps to keep the brand reputable.

Content Marketing – It’s Where Your Story Begins.

Content marketing is a powerful strategy for growing your startup. A majority of organizations use this strategy to make their mark in the industry. Content marketing has the power to pull more leads than any paid search. Nothing beats this approach when done with the right blend of content, great storytelling, and relevant insights.

Did you ever wonder how big brands like HubSpot, Mint, and Buffer skyrocketed their startup success? Yes, by brewing a winning content marketing strategy.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing aims to bring in leads. An affiliate is like a seller who works on compensation. It is up to you to decide how to pay them. The payment structure can be based on the number of sales they generate or a flat rate per product. With this type of digital marketing, you can relax and watch as your affiliates take the weight off your shoulder.

Authority Hacker conducted a survey of 2,270 affiliate marketers and found the average affiliate marketer earns $8,038 per month. Also, these earnings are heavily dependent on the marketer’s experience:

Monthly Affiliate Income

Now, in the pool of such exciting marketing strategies, which one suits your startup? Fret not! We have got you covered.

Startups and Digital Marketing Strategy – Where Do You Start?

In developing a digital marketing strategy, the above factors are significant. Combining them in the right balance makes a robust digital marketing strategy. But first, outline your goals and objectives. Know your audience and their pulse. Learn where exactly your efforts can bring in traction. How? For starters, here are a few simple steps.

  1. Start your brand awareness and presence on social media. Use social media networks for sponsored posts to promote your company and product.
  2. It’s time to get active in SEO, Content Creation, and Search Engine Marketing on your website.
  3. Google Analytics and Search Console can help you figure out how much and from where traffic is coming. Promotions should target individuals who clicked on your ads or blog posts.
  4. Check how many sales you got with each technique. Your landing/sales page can be customized with UTM parameters. Make a decision based on what worked for you.
  5. As a final suggestion, make use of automated emails to keep your customers engaged. You can talk about discounts, new products, how-to guides, e-books, loyalty program bonuses, etc.

Nevertheless, you must ensure that you do not attempt too many strategies at once. You know what they say about too many cooks spoiling the broth. Remember, Hike Messenger gives us all solicited advice to not incorporate too many features and miss out on the unique selling proposition. Furthermore, any startup digital marketing should focus on cost-effective approaches as a thumb rule.

Finally, a startup can be promoted in a variety of ways. You have to know who your audience is, how they behave, and how your business can make a difference. Startup marketing is no rocket science, but considering the limitations on resources, you need to take appropriate precautions before getting started. Make your unique mark and bring your ingenuity. SEO is a brand’s best friend

The term is just as simple as it sounds when the SEO strategy is used rightly. What it does is, it optimizes your website, which means it amplifies your presence online and takes it to a larger, well-targeted audience. Just like your best friend!

Google handles over 40,000 search queries per second and generates only the top ten well-engineered pages for your display on its first page or on its SERPs(Search Engine Result Pages). You probably haven’t gone beyond those ten web pages because you’ve already found the answer on the first page. That means you have a great chance to grow your audience if you result in the top 10 websites otherwise, well, you’ve just lost a customer.

This is where understanding what SEO is and how a smart SEO strategy creates an impact gives you a competitive edge.

The competitive role of SEO in the digital world

What does good SEO do? Pandemic has proved people no longer need to shop at a physical store; they can do it in the comfort of their couch. Therefore it is paramount to have an impressive brand identity and a clear digital marketing strategy. Relevant and regular social media marketing increases brand awareness, generating organic traffic. Good quality content converts inbound lead generation, leading to unpaid search traffic.

Brand loyalty

Brand loyalty is when a customer trusts the brand and comes back to it frequently, enabling brand growth. The customer is satisfied with your service and prefers to pick your brand from among 100s of others out there. This can also increase the referrals for your brand and multiply the customer ratio.

SEO creates brand awareness. It enhances your site and gives you an organic audience, an audience who is most likely to stay. Your website needs to be quick and efficient in both front and backend operations to make this possible.

Additionally, SEO boosts these operations (URL redirects, including targeted keywords etc.). You will start to rank in the top SERPs eventually through keyword analysis, targeted research, authority backlink building, and genuine content creation.

Brand growth

Gaining a robust digital presence is vital for the survival and growth of almost any business today. Here is where SEO and a user experience (UX) go together. SEO shows the site to a possible customer, while the user experience with on-hand interaction with the website is what makes them want to purchase.  SEO and UX share the same goal – brand growth. Local SEO can be also used here. Knowing and understanding your audience is essential, thus opening buying windows.

SEO Strategy

When you are on a digital medium, be it an individual, a company, or a brand, you are assessed based on some key factors – your consistency and your authenticity. A foolproof SEO strategy is what your brand needs when you start to think about building your online presence. It increases your organic online traffic and enables a higher ranking on SERPs. The following are some of the mandatory factors to consider while creating an SEO strategy:

  • Keywords
  • Authority backlinks
  • Metadata
  • SEO Metrics
  • Technical SEO
  • High-quality UX
  • High quality content

The importance of a strong digital marketing strategy

Just as SEO has made a majestic sail through the web, a smart digital marketing strategy is its anchor. It is always easy to kickstart your business online, but a  digital marketing strategy is what keeps you consistent.

Making a strong digital presence and creating long-lasting brand awareness starts with these steps:

  • Analyze and get to know your customers
  • Design a strong strategy that works for your business
  • Develop a relevant and targeted content strategy
  • Go after a well-researched group of customers
  • Widen your channels
  • Evaluate brand performance and adjust to the best yielding model

Good SEO and an impactful digital marketing strategy go hand in hand.

Now that you are informed about both SEO and a digital marketing strategy, we are here to tell you these two go well together. There are several other channels to market your brand. But these two have proven to be among the best.

SEO offers you the leverage and digital marketing strategies keep you consistent. Digital marketing keeps your brand engaged while SEO keeps the content steady and focused. Quality content earns brand loyalty and SEO drives that traffic. And thereby, through a solid SEO, relevant and persistent digital marketing, you grow as a brand and have better relationships with your clientele. And what’s stopping your brand’s success now?

You can also design this plan following a small business digital marketing strategy with the right proportions of SEO and digital marketing strategies in place.

Consequently, any business, regardless of size, can reach a larger audience. It helps brands generate a capable brand identity that wins a clear customer experience. Woah! Is that all too much? But SEO in your digital marketing strategy doesn’t have to be tough anymore. Hire advanced and competent professionals with Wild Creek Web Studio and scale your business to scorching heights.

Why do small business need a digital marketing strategy

3 Digital Marketing Strategies That Can Change the Game for Every Small Business!

Search engines generate nearly 93% of all web traffic. Over half of Internet traffic is generated by mobile devices. If anything, the best myth you hear about digital marketing is that it is for large businesses. But what if we can demystify the fact?

  • Start with a Brand Identity that helps you connect with your customers!
  • Target your audience with a compelling social media strategy
  • Build a winning content strategy

How does Digital Marketing Help Small Businesses?

The Digital Revolution has changed the nature of modern businesses. Digital marketing is not just for large companies and brands anymore. B2B marketing is now available to businesses of all sizes. And, small business marketing strategy has evolved beyond ROI.

In essence, digital marketing strategy is centered on creating impact, brand awareness, and fostering customer loyalty. The trick lies in scaling strategies to the changing business needs. The goal is to establish an effective brand identity that drives an exceptional customer relationship. How does that happen? By using three different digital marketing techniques. Scroll down!

Start with a Brand Identity that helps you connect with your customers!

An organization’s brand identity combines what the company believes in, its values, its products, and how it wants its customers to perceive them as a business. Simply put, a brand identity is the face of your business and a commitment you give to your customers.

But there’s a subtle strategy hidden to execute this phenomenon. Can we call it a brand identity strategy or customer experience strategy? Because brand identity and your customer’s trust are intertwined. How will you establish a safe path toward building it? A five-step strategy is all it takes.

Research – Like any business plan, generating brand identity requires some market research. It should help bring out all the questions regarding who your audience is, the uniqueness that puts you out of the crowd, what can compel them to make you their choice, and what are the pitfalls? Simply put, a SWOT analysis considers the biggest whys and pushes them to be the best reasons for building your brand.

Logo – Although logos are not all that make up your brand identity, they are one of the most critical branding components. Your business cards, website, and online advertisements all feature it. It needs to be interesting, with attention-grabbing colors, hooking templates, and consistency in its use. Make sure your branding is as cohesive as possible.

Connection with communication – Language is the bridge that acts between your product and customer. By that, we don’t mean the formality but the tone and intent. Who doesn’t love stories? So tell some engaging and moving stories in building your brand. Be it your blogs, social media, or advertisements, make sure your communication can connect you with your customers. How would they like that to be?

But Avoid – Language gives the freedom to communicate and connect with your customers. But hold on and revisit your strategies before you implement them. The social presence of people is becoming vast every single day. One mistake, and it’s easy to remember your brand for it. Do you remember the Myntra Logo Issue? So creating sensible and publicly acceptable content across all marketing channels with consistency on both online and offline mediums is crucial.

Monitor – Tracking key performance metrics is vital for knowing what is working (or not) as part of your marketing. Analyze how people talk about and interact with your brand using the right analytics tools. That allows for fixing mistakes or improving your brand identity as needed. Recall that Domino’s revamped its brand to get to where it is today.

Now, with these five strategies in hand, let’s design a traffic-driving social media strategy.

Target your audience with a compelling social media strategy

Social media serves a variety of business purposes. In addition to promoting your products, services, and brand, social media connects you with your audience.

Building a social media strategy differs slightly from what we discussed earlier. How? For example, the above strategy works wonders for creating brand identity. The same strategy with a few tweaks can accommodate a social media campaign plan for small businesses.

Drill the goal: What is your objective for this social media strategy? Is it creating brand awareness? Acquiring customers? Increasing engagement?

Buyer personas: Learn everything you can about your customer – age, gender, locality, interests, pain points, and active social media channels.

Which channel is best for you? With a dozen social media channels used across marketing, knowing which one suits your and your audience’s needs is vital. It’s not a trend you need to catch up on; it’s about the reciprocation and engagement that a channel gives you.

Create a social media content calendar. We mean setting a clean layout of your agendas, what you require for it, who works on it, who designs the creatives, when is the publishing date, etc. It should give an overview of your mission on social media just with a glance.

A bunch of tools, maybe. Yes, for starters, any small business can do their social media posts using tools like Canva for creating designs. Similarly, there are management tools that help the process run seamless clearing bottlenecks. Again, get what suits your needs.

Posting day: Make sure all your posts are published on the set date. Maintain consistency. Start engaging your audience on it by adding them to the other marketing channels. Give them that push to meet your objective.

Analyze: Finally, sit back and reflect. Not every social media strategy or campaign works wonders. Some win, and some lose. So, cheers, find the reasons and act accordingly.

Now that’s about the social media marketing campaign. But for any marketing strategy, the content remains the king of it. Then how to create a content strategy that gets results?

Build a winning content strategy

You can define content strategy as the process of using content (written, audio, and visual) to accomplish your goals. You will attract and engage your target audience throughout the funnel and even after they have made a purchase with a successful content strategy.

The steps for creating an outstanding content marketing strategy look very similar to the templates of brand identity and social media campaign planning.

It all starts with identifying your audience with whom you need to engage the content and chalking out their likes and dislikes. After knowing your buyer personas, it is advisable to do a content audit of how your current strategies are working.

Now is the time to choose a content management system that helps deal with flowing data silos. This step gives an idea to curate and brainstorms the ideas and strategies that best work for the target group with specified teams.

As a next step, you will now need a content calendar that provides a clear glimpse of how your strategy will take place. This boils down to the final publishing, managing, and finding the right analysis to work down for later.

Finally, there are numerous digital marketing varieties, from social media to influencer, email to content, SEO to pay-per-click, and mobile to an affiliate. The real strategy lies in which one you pick for your business. There is no one approach that suits every small business. But the advantage of being a small business favors a lot. It is easy to break the business sectors, identify the key areas that need attention, and execute an impactful digital marketing plan accordingly.

With that said, if you’re a small business ready to embrace a digital transformation that could change your business game, then you’re at the right place. Wild Creek is a leading digital marketing firm that helps you build your own digital story. Contact us today!

digital marketing strategy

9 reasons why you need a digital marketing strategy?

Digital marketing is becoming the biggest name in the marketing world. It has changed the way people used to think marketing should be done. It has created a lot of opportunities that people are taking up to make money in the business. For example, YouTube has become a great platform for many content creators. However, there are a lot of people who are not doing it right. They just create a website and expect all the traffic to come to them because they have a website. They don’t do anything to attract traffic to their website. The result? Their websites fail! This is where having a proper Digital Marketing Strategy makes a huge difference.

“You can’t just place a few ‘Buy’ buttons on your website and expect your visitors to buy.” - Neil Patel

What does your digital marketing plan look like? Is that a straight line that works forward purposefully? Or is it more of a squiggly line that creates a lot of question marks? The second scenario will seem familiar to a large number of companies that operate online. Many have clearly stated on paper what the ultimate goal should be, but the way to get there is often still unknown.

digital marketing strategy

The reason? They lack a digital marketing strategy that offers guidance and clarity. We explain below what this specifically means.

In this Article

Toggle
  • 1. Without strategy you are out of control
  • 2. You want to know your online audience
  • 3. Prevent competitors from taking over
  • 4. For a powerful online value proposition
  • 5. To get to know your online customers
  • 6. Combine with traditional marketing
  • 7. Sufficient budget is important
  • 8. To avoid wasting money
  • 9. Staying Innovative
  • Final words

1. Without strategy you are out of control

“A vision without a strategy remains an illusion.” Lee Bolman

Businesses without a strategy don’t have a clear goal about what they want to achieve online. If you don’t have a goal, visitors can continue to flow in, but there is a good chance that you will not achieve enough results. It is clear that you want to sell, but there is no clarity in the way you are going about it. A strategy creates support and bonding. A common thread that you and your colleagues can always fall back on.

2. You want to know your online audience

“The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.- Peter F. Drucker”

Traditional sales channels are very different from their online counterparts. Knowing your customers well doesn’t mean you know their online needs. Customer demand for online services can be underestimated if you haven’t properly researched these needs. Fortunately, there are great tools available to help you get to know your customers. For example, take a look at the favorite search terms of your target group via Google’s Keyword Planner and ensure more interaction via social media.

3. Prevent competitors from taking over

“Anticipated, personal, and relevant advertising always does better than unsolicited junk.”  – Seth Godin

Do you pay enough attention to online marketing trends or do you opt for an impulsive and rudderless approach?

If you chose the latter, then it is highly likely that your competitors will run off with your customers. After all, your competitor is just two clicks away. Your target audience will find the answers on your competitor’s site and their needs will be properly met there. An online strategy is crucial to stay ahead of competitors.

4. For a powerful online value proposition

“Always provide value. Value builds trust. Once you have that trust, you have the ability to do some selling.” - Mike Volpe

A clear value proposition will help you differentiate your online services from other providers. You tell that and visualize it online. For example, with meaningful blog posts and social media posts that really benefit your customers. Speak to your audience, captivate them, and keep yourself captivated. With a bit of luck, they will become ambassadors for your company.

5. To get to know your online customers

“The basics of business is to stay as close as possible to your customers-understand their behavior, their preferences, their purchasing patterns, etc.” – Indra Nooyi

It is often said that digital marketing is so measurable. But Google Analytics and other tools will only tell you more about visitor numbers and other static data. They won’t tell you much about the sentiment of visitors or what they feel. So, you will have to use other feedback tools to find out the feelings of your visitors. How? For example, by creating an online poll or by reading the comments on your Facebook posts. You will need to reach out to your customers, start conversations and constantly stay engaged. A careful gathering of customer sentiment and feedback will help you meet every one of their needs and satisfy their expectations completely.

6. Combine with traditional marketing

Marketing is a broad field and online marketing falls within it. It therefore still happens that online marketing is the neglected child in the complete marketing plan. However, online marketing works best when integrated with traditional media. So be active online, but don’t forget the basics: you also have to be there for your customers offline.

7. Sufficient budget is important

“Stopping advertising to save money is like stopping your watch to save time.” - Henry Ford

It is important to approach online marketing as a separate branch of marketing. This means that enough attention must be paid to it and therefore a sufficient budget must be kept available. How do you justify a budget?

By having a well-defined strategy.

8. To avoid wasting money

Even if you have sufficient financial resources, waste cannot always be prevented. This is especially true in larger companies where multiple departments buy the same tools or do overlapping work. A clear strategy prevents this.

9. Staying Innovative

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” - Socrates

The biggest online brands have one thing in common: they are all innovative. To be innovative there must be a direction, just like a goal, and therefore a strategy. After all, there are countless developments in the online world. It is important to use your resources in innovations that suit you. Only in this way can you remain effective and permanently put the competition at a disadvantage.

Final words

A strategy means optimizing: Every company with a website has data, but not always the same amount of time is set aside to analyze it. Online marketing is continuous optimization and therefore continuous analysis. This is the only way to ensure more grip and more progress. With a strategy you ensure that analyzing and optimizing becomes one of your permanent pillars.

The good news – Now that you now have valid reasons to develop an online digital marketing strategy. Try to assess how other companies approach this and see how that would work best for your company.

multi-channel digital marketing

What is multi-channel digital marketing?

Multi-channel marketing is the ability to share your message with potential customers, regardless of the channel used. When you commit to your marketing efforts – both print, online, events and word of mouth – we speak of multi-channel marketing.

  • 5 Tips to succeed in multi-channel marketing
    • Tip 1: What is your target?
    • Tip 2: Know who your target audience is!
    • Tip 3: Write a marketing plan.
    • Tip 4: Focus on the buying process, not the selling process.
    • Tip 5: Be consistent
  • What makes a successful multi-channel marketing campaign?

Why multi-channel marketing?

The reason for multi-channel marketing is simple. Think about how many television channels, websites, mobile applications and other content you can choose from on a daily basis. This also means that all those different channels can be used to influence purchasing decisions and to carry out the actual purchase. If you want to maximize your turnover as an entrepreneur, brand or product, you will have to present the right message on the right channels, at the right time.

multi-channel digital marketing

What is multi-channel marketing?

Multi-channel marketing is the practice of using multiple channels to reach more customers. It allows the customer to choose the channel of their preference and connect with the brand. It also makes it easier for the potential to “decide to buy”, hence giving them a choice.

Examples of channels are:

  • Email marketing (like newsletters)
  • Website
  • An app
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • SMS
  • Print ads
  • Word of mouth

Without a good strategic multi-channel approach, you will miss out on a lot of customers!!

Many small and medium-sized companies know what multi-channel marketing is, but they do not have a good and working strategy. Most make the mistake of using different strategies for different channels. It is therefore very important that you apply the same strategy to different channels. A multi-channel marketing strategy only really works when the customer can switch channels without any problems, without the information being lost.

The goal of Multi-Channel marketing is to give your customer a choice of where and when they want to buy. It also allows you to receive different types of feedback and identify the problem faster.

5 Tips to succeed in multi-channel marketing

Tip 1: What is your target?

Start with your goal, what added value do you deliver? Some common goals include promoting a product or service, increasing sales, generating inquiries or leads, brand awareness, building relationships, etc. Keep your goals clearly in mind so you can plan each stage of your campaign. Laser focus on your goals will give you better results.

Tip 2: Know who your target audience is!

It is very important to determine who your target audience is and on which channels they are most active.

Don’t run too fast!

It is not necessary to immediately offer all possible channels, but if you know that your target group hardly uses certain channels, it does not make much sense to immediately pay a lot of attention to these channels. Ask your customers which channels they are most active on using a simple survey. If you want to know something about your target audience, you can just ask your target audience! Focus on the 3 or 4 popular ones and expand slowly.

Tip 3: Write a marketing plan.

You cannot start without a plan. Find out what your opportunities are and what the threats are.

Know who you want to sell to. Knowing who to sell to is just as important as knowing where to sell. You want to know who appeals to you and that is why it is wise to draw up buyer profiles based on the people who will use the different channels.

Tip 4: Focus on the buying process, not the selling process.

By focusing on the sales process, you are too concerned with results instead of with your customer. As a result, your customers may find that you come across as pushy.

Focusing on the buying process, you are mainly concerned with the customer and strategies and the easier you can make it for the customer to buy your product or service, the faster you may see conversions.

Tip 5: Be consistent

A good multi-channel campaign offers your target audience a consistent experience across different channels.

Be consistent in your multi-channel strategy. This does not mean that you have to post a message on all channels. Each channel has its own communication method. The essence of your message will be the same, but the way you translate it into a 140-character tweet will be very different from the way you say it in the mail. The value you offer them and your brand voice must remain consistent across all channels. Your customers don’t think in terms of channels, they think in terms of what your message means to them.

What makes a successful multi-channel marketing campaign?

Multi-channel marketing is more than a matter of being ‘everywhere’. You will have to be present everywhere in the right way and several things are important for this:

  1. Provide a clear profile or several profiles in which customers are described. It is important to create as complete a picture as possible of these fictitious ‘ideal’ customers, so that this information can later be used to adjust the messages and channels.
  2. The different channels used must work together and complement each other. It is important to adapt your message to the channel used: A Facebook status update is different from an email newsletter. However, you should keep in mind that all channels are part of one overarching multi-channel marketing strategy and must therefore match in tone, message and objective.
  3. Analytics, attribution and ROI play a very important role in multi-channel marketing. To prevent time, money and attention from going to a channel that subsequently has little or no effect on revenue, it is important to measure the results of these efforts very accurately. By properly assigning results to the correct channel, it can be determined to what extent the channel contributes to the objectives of the company.

Conclusion:

Customer expectation are constantly increasing. With so many channels available for consumers to explore, it is imperative for companies to be in sync with the highly dynamic technological advances and emerging trends. Customers are looking for a seamless integration across multiple channels and only a right multi-channel strategy can ensure this.

Lead Generation - Market Research Case Study

[Case Study] How We Generated 650+ leads for One of the Largest National Brands in India at 50% Budget

3 months ago, we were contacted by an agency on behalf of a leading national brand to help them generate leads. The brand was planning to launch a new product towards the end of the year and they were looking to do a product market fit.

In order to validate the product fit, they wanted to conduct a survey to identify the market potential and market positioning.

  • Wild Creek Digital Strategy and Solution:
  • Conclusion:

Background:

The brand is a huge conglomerate manufacturer with presence in nearly all sectors and having multinational operations. The brand had given specific guidelines on how the survey should be done in order to get an impartial view of the market landscape.

Wherein,

  • The brand name could not be mentioned anywhere.
  • The existing brand assets (social media pages / landing pages) could not be used for this campaign.

When the agency approached us, they had already attempted a lead generation campaign, but with poor results (both online and offline). They were able to collect only 10% genuine leads and had already spent 40% of the total digital marketing budget allocated for this exercise.

Challenges identified by Wild Creek:

After a preliminary discussion with the agency to understand the requirements, we identified a few challenges using our Digital Diagnostic Framework.

  1. Lead Conversion Time – The agency had not implemented any systems to improve the lead conversion time and was still relying on manual methods.
  2. Poor Targeting – The agency was not targeting the right set of audience and the campaign was poorly structured.
  3. Not Enough Budget – Even though the brand had earmarked a good quantum of budget for this activity, the agency had not thought through the campaign properly and therefore neglected to allocate the required funds that would deliver results.

Wild Creek Digital Strategy and Solution:

Having understood the situation and the task at hand, we implemented our unique 3-Step Process named A-B-C to address the challenges faced by the client.

Step #1 – Automation: To reduce the time taken to contact the leads, we implemented automated solutions that reduced the time taken to reach out to the lead. This intervention also decreased the manual process by as much as 75%.

Step #2 – Budget:  As this was a social media campaign, we identified the social media channels and placements that would assist us in getting better conversion rates. We then matched it with the appropriate budget to help us achieve the survey numbers required for this campaign.

Step #3 – Conversions: By targeting everyone and anyone with the marketing, the agency was diluting the lead generation activity and wasting resources. Based on our research and conversations with the agency, we identified the right set of audience that would be suited for this branding exercise and only targeted them in the campaign.

Along with this, we also implemented a lead form strategy that reduced the number of junk-leads by as much as 50%.

In addition to the above three, we also streamlined the ad assets to keep it simple, clear and straightforward.

At the end of the campaign, the client received a 200% ROI completely through digital approach without necessitating any offline intervention.
